LOVE IS...

I love my job.  It allows me to connect and cross paths with so many wonderful people while offering the flexibility to take it with me during our travels!

Here’s the story.  Several months back, I received a referral from one of my dear friends (thank you!!).  Her brother-in-law was recently engaged to be married and someone I have known over the years.  His fiancĂ© called to inquire about photography for their wedding and offered me the job!  Yay!!  I am really excited for the opportunity and Dave and Stefanie seem very easy going and fun!  After the wedding conversations, Stefanie called to see if I wanted to do engagement photos for them too!  It worked out with our holiday travels and I got a chance to meet up with this awesome-beautiful couple!!

We picked a day early in the vacation and can I just say, we had incredible weather?!!!  It was in the 40’s (very warm for December) and snow on the ground, and if you have ever been to Wyoming, you know that it is a rare day when you have no wind!!  What a beautiful day with a gorgeous couple!  These are the days where your spirits are lifted and all you can do is smile with excitement!!   It’s gonna be good!!

Stefanie and Dave met in Laramie a couple of years ago and they are SUCH a cute fit.  He is a busy Chiropractor in Laramie and Stefanie is a hard working law student at UW.  Stefanie is from Cheyenne and wanted to capture some of her hometown.  It was very fun for this photographer because Cheyenne revealed so many new backdrop options & I got the opportunity to sneak a peek of their wedding location.  It will be fantastic in the summer!  We started at the Train Depot, moved downtown, and finished up at the park/botanical gardens!  Like I said, they were easy going, fun, and it was great to be outdoors!!

One of my favorites!!

Planning for a kiss with a dip...

Excuse me while I gush a little…so beautiful!!

Thank you Dave & Stefanie for the fun morning shoot and I am excited to see you again this summer!!  It truly was a pleasure!!  Have a very Happy New Year & may your wedding planning go seamlessly!

Something Ugly

Yes, it is possible as a photographer that you might just take an ugly picture!  My husband and I gave it our best effort!!   In this case, I think our attempts were unsuccessful because the pictures below turned out pretty cute!!

This holiday season was super busy with activities and work (thank you btw!).  However, we carved in some fun time with friends.  Ugly sweaters seemed to pave the way for the 2012 festivities and we were so excited!  Tyler and I attended an annual Ugly Sweater Christmas party and our attire was rather tame. He wore a shirt with reindeer shouting, “There’s no business like snow business!  I found a nice complimentary (14-year-old girl) Santa wish list sweatshirt.  She was wishing for a pony with a rainbow mane or a sleepover with a BFF to name a few!  It was funny!

On to the main event, parents day out!!  As couples, we signed up for Omaha’s Ugly Sweater Race!!!  It was awesome!!  An untimed 5K with costume attire ranging from the pink bunny mimicking  “The Christmas Story” movie to several reindeer pulling Santa in a shopping cart!  My husband rocked a sweater that celebrates all holidays starting in August.  Yes folks, it is the sweater vest that can be worn for many occasions! LOL!  As a group, I have to say we did very well following the ugly theme, from band pants, crazy socks, sweater headbands, & tutus!!  The race was fun and we were cooled off with Omaha’s first heavy snowfall afterward!   It was so pretty…and a little chilly!  We decided to regroup and enjoy some yummy Mexican food before retrieving all of our kids from childcare.  What a great memory for all of us and we had a blast!!

After saying our goodbyes, the Christmas holiday was only days away.  Our household packed up and headed to Wyoming for family time, skiing, and lots of driving!  J  2500 miles this time!  Can I just say…”whoa.”

From Red Umbrella Photography, I truly hope you had a wonderful holiday season. Looking forward to 2013 and new adventures!!  God bless another year!!
